Description[]
The Tatsuishis are one of the few distinguished families with the Gift. They are from a long-established noble line, one of the families who had risen to prominence through ridding the land of Grotesqueries.[1]
Due to a remnant of their past achievements, the Tatsuichis has a high rank among the noble families.[2] However, they faces a similar predicament as the Saimori family, with their status was hanging by a thread.
In social circles, the Tatsuishis are never worthy of mention when the topic of noteworthy families with the Gift surfaced. People thought they lack both capability and promise.[3] If the next generation doesn't turn out to be extraordinarily Gifted, they would no longer be able to fulfill their role as retainers to the Emperor and be stripped of privilege and their stipend.[4]
Though their wealth and status from their past achievements still force their peers to accept them as nobility at present, they certainly don't command much respect. The family is considered to be already on the path toward ruin.[3]
The Tatsuishis have relations with the Saimori family that go back a long way. Their residences are nearby each other, located in an area in the Imperial Capital,[1] in a part of the city where many wealthy families have their estates.[4]
In order to restore the family's status, the current head of the Tatsuishi family, Minoru Tatsuishi wanted the Gift of the Usuba’s bloodline.[3] It is unknown that Minoru followed the orders of the Emperor.
Minoru was angry at Shinichi Saimori who a sent his daughter Miyo to Kiyoka’s house for to marry the current head of the Kudou family instead of his eldest son, Kazushi.[5] So he told Kaya about Miyo's engagement with Kiyoka by showing a photo of them happily engaged. Kaya furious that Miyo had a happier life, decides to help Minoru on a plot to kidnap Miyo. Kouji tried to stop his father but failed and he was restrained.
After Minoru left, Kazushi freed Koji, who quickly went to Kiyoka and begged him to help save Miyo.[6]
At Saimori estate, Minoru was about to use the barrier technique with Shinichi and by himself with the Aerokinesis, but his powers are no match for Kiyoka's powers and as they head to the storehouse, Minoru use the fire to stop them while the Saimori estate is on fire as he refuses to let Kiyoka to marry Miyo for the Usuba bloodline, but he has been hit by Electrokinesis twice as he was rendered unconscious.[7]
After the kidnapping incident of Miyo, Minoru was replaced by his eldest son Kazushi as the new head of the Tatsuishi family due to his actions. The Tatsuishi family did not receive punishment and they are under the supervision of Kiyoka.[8]
