Opinokinesis (五感操作, Gokan sōsa?) is the ability to manipulate the five senses.[1]
Description[]
Users with the Gift of opinokinesis are able to distort the sensory experience of the five senses of the eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and skin, transforming them into a state that is different from reality. It is an extremely powerful ability, so most of them would have postnatal restrictions imposed on them. Some Gift-users with this ability, like those recorded in old notebooks in the Usuba estate, are be able to avoid such treatment because of their relatively honest and kind personalities.
The weakness of this Gift is that it can only be used for a short time, and the effect only lasts for about an hour. If they want to extend it by another hour, the user can only use it three times a day. The range of use is also limited to the range that one can see with the naked eye. If the user wants to break this restriction, the cerebrum of the brain will be overwhelmed and damaged. If such a powerful force are to be exerted inadequately, it would naturally put a heavy burden on the body.
However, one may counter this weakness, by controlling the power for a short time and narrowing the effective range, then adjust it delicately and frequently like pressing the "on" and "off" buttons of a mechanical switch.[2]
History[]
In the far past there have been users who possesses opinokinesis.[2] Around forty years ago,[3] Naoshi Usui is born in the Usui family, a branch family of the Usuba family[4] and awakened the Usuba Gift of opinokinesis.[5] Because this Gift cannot be used for a long time, after he left the Usuba family, he had to spend many years studying the technology of Gifts. It would be helpful if he is able to reduce the restrictions on his Gift and achieve his plan to overthrow the current government, as long as he manages to control the important figures in the country from behind.[2]
