TBA (心を知り, Kokoro o Shiri?) is the second chapter of Volume 6 of the My Happy Marriage series.
Summary[]
After three days at the Usuba estate, Miyo Saimori and Kiyo head to an inn named Akedaya in the downtown area. In a secluded cabin, she meets Tadakiyo Kudou and asks for his help in summoning Gift-users to counter the Gifted Communion. Tadakiyo, being the former head of the Kudou family, has connections with Gifted families and while he can't compel them to join the battle, he's willing to approach them and even apply pressure to those secretly assisting Naoshi Usui. Miyo expresses her gratitude for his help. When Tadakiyo is surprised that Miyo knows his whereabouts without Kiyo telling her, Miyo explains that she has unlocked clairvoyance and saw it by means of Dream-Sight, giving her insight into the future and the most critical way to save Kiyoka Kudou. Tadakiyo is impressed by her abilities.
Miyo requests a meeting with Fuyu Kudou, who criticizes her for causing Kiyoka's reputation to become stained. Hearing this, Miyo realizes that due to her engagement with Kiyoka, his standing might become permanently damaged, even if they defeat Naoshi. Kiyo defends her, leading to an argument with Fuyu. Cutting it off, Fuyu asks Miyo about her attraction to Kiyoka. Miyo admits she's attracted to him as both a husband and a man. Fuyu, despite calling Miyo greedy, believes it's a blessing to fall in love with someone who is chosen by others, as many women in arranged marriages do not have this luxury.
After Tadakiyo contacted her, Hazuki Kudou arrives but feels too embarrassed to enter the room after hearing Fuyu's rare supportive words to Miyo. Tadakiyo shares that Masashi Ookaito is safe and actively countering government officials. Despite Naoshi's control of the army's core, the government is maintaining a stalemate. Even after dealing with Naoshi, there will be diplomatic challenges with international powers, and the domestic chaos must be stabilized. Informed by Kiyoka about the impending crisis before his arrest, Tadakiyo initially came to the capital to observe the situation. However, after agreeing to Miyo's request, he decides that they will stay until the wedding ceremony. Hazuki invites them to stay in the Kudou main estate with her and asks him to keep her arrival quiet to avoid worrying Miyo.
After leaving Akedaya, Miyo and Kiyo head to the unit station, where the unit members are all locked up for monitoring. They find the main entrance crowded with protesters who distrust the government and the unit. After entering through the back door, they find Kazushi Tatsuishi and Yoshito Godou in Kiyoka's office. When the two tease Kiyo, they end up being punched by him. After the situation calms down, Yoshito explains that the unit members have become irritable and were fighting while forced to live together. Luckily, Masashi's intervention led to the removal of the personnel monitoring them. Under Mukadeyama's leadership, they are now preparing for war in the dojo. Miyo announces she will rescue Kiyoka tomorrow, and Kazushi volunteers to accompany her. During the discussion of their plans, they decide that Miyo and her group will first infiltrate the military headquarters to locate Kiyoka. Following that, the unit will launch an attack to distract Naoshi's forces, creating an opportunity for Miyo to confront Naoshi.
In the evening, they return to the Usuba estate. Kazushi, who has joined them, is given a guest room after dinner. Miyo, sensing Yoshirou's concern, honestly shares her activities of the day with him. When she reveals that the decisive battle is scheduled for the next day, Yoshirou expresses his anxiety, similar to how he felt when Sumi got married. Miyo understands his sense of powerlessness, knowing he can only silently witness others leaving. Miyo appreciates his concern and assures him she'll come back to invite him to her wedding. She then goes to her room, lies in bed, and Kiyo sings her an out-of-tune lullaby until she falls asleep.
