Epilogue (序章, Joshou?) is the prologue of Volume 2 of the My Happy Marriage series.
Summary[]
On a hot summer day, Arata Usuba spots a woman holding a parasol with an extremely pale face in the buzzing streets of the Imperial Capital and immediately knows it's Miyo. He doesn't have any particular business with her this instant, but he simply wants to get a glimpse of the girl he heard so much about. Suddenly, the woman loses balance as she walks over to his direction and Arata half-heartedly extends his arms to catch her. Seeing how frail she is, he pities her and also feels satisfied that he would be protecting this woman going forward.
An elderly man, addressed with Your Majesty, is lying on a futon in a spacious parlor, with his body having withered away and his memories eluding him as of late. Soon, a chestnut-haired young man arrives to request his permission regarding an incident. The old man had put this pawn, necessary for his current plans, on standby for the time being. Knowing that preparations would soon be complete, he authorizes the young man's actions. After the young man leaves, the old man rings a bell and orders a chamberlain to drive the ghosts in the Burial Grounds to the countryside.
