Truth-Revealing Party (真実を知るパーティー, Shinjitsu o Shiru Paatii?) is the fifth chapter of Volume 2 of the My Happy Marriage series.
Summary[]
Time passes, and the day of the party has arrived. Miyo gets ready with the help of Hazuki, Yurie, and Keiko. When Kiyoka sees her, he is stunned, and gets flustered when she compliments him. Kiyoka, Miyo, and Hazuki are driven to the venue, a hotel. Kiyoka and Miyo greet Godou, and Kiyoka is about to introduce Miyo to Ookaito when a young boy runs up to Kiyoka and calls him Uncle. He is followed by Ookaito, who introduces himself to Miyo. The boy introduces himself as Asahi Ookaito, the son of Masashi Ookaito. Miyo is stunned when Asahi greets Hazuki as his mother and realizes that Masashi is her ex-husband. Seeing the harmonious interactions between the three, Miyo realizes that Yoshirou was right about family ties not being so easily broken.
The party continues, and Miyo finds herself gradually enjoying the atmosphere. Kiyoka takes her to see Takaihito to have him explain the matters relating to the Burial Grounds and the Usuba family. Takaihito apologizes to Miyo for all the pain she has suffered up to now. The Emperor had been afraid of the Gift of Dream-Sight because of its potential to threaten his and his family's position. When Sumi was born, his fears seemed one step closer to coming true. The Emperor orchestrated the Usuba family's near-ruin and Sumi's marriage to a Saimori instead of an Usuba. When the seal on Miyo's powers broke after she left the Saimori estate and started living with Kiyoka, the Emperor saw the Kudous as a threat and released the seal on the Burial Grounds in an effort to separate Miyo and Kiyoka and potentially get rid of the latter.
Takaihito also reveals another shocking fact: the Emperor had lost his Divine Revelation and is wasting away in his bed. As abdication can't be sanctioned, the Emperor will serve as a figurehead while Takaihito assumes his role. Miyo asks him if the Usubas will be punished for Arata's disobedience, but Takaihito reassures her that with his upcoming ascension, he will have the power to revoke any punishment. He reveals his anger towards his father's actions.
