This is the My Happy Marriage Wiki's Manual of Style, which provides the guidelines for creating and editing articles. Please read carefully before making edits. Repeated offenses may result in a ban.
Questions about policy should be directed to the administrators’ message walls.
Source[]
This wiki prioritizes the novels as the primary source. All other adaptations (manga, anime, live-action film, stage play) are considered secondary sources. Please keep this in mind when editing.
Perspective[]
- Articles in the Category:World should be written in-universe, as though by an observer within the My Happy Marriage world. Avoid phrases like “In Chapter 3” or “In Episode 6” except in Trivia or Reference sections.
- Maintain a neutral and objective perspective; avoid personal opinions or biased wording. Instead of saying “This character is a bad person,” describe their actions and how others perceive them.
- All articles must be written in third-person.
Writing[]
Language[]
- This is an English-language wiki; all edits must be made in American English with understandable grammar.
- Maintain a formal and encyclopedic tone. Avoid slang, euphemisms, and profanity unless directly quoting dialogue.
- Keep tenses consistent throughout an article:
- Background sections → past tense.
- Other sections → present tense (unless describing a flashback).
- Articles for deceased or defunct subjects → past tense throughout.
- Chapter and episode summaries → present tense (unless referring to past events).
Naming[]
- Use the official romanizations in Yen Press' latest translation of the novels for all names and terms, with the exception of:
- Manga chapter titles from Square Enix USA, the licensor of the manga
- Anime episode titles from Netflix, the licensor of the anime
- Do not use outdated or fan-translated names unless no official translation exists.
- Use
{{Nihongo}}for names in Japanese text. Jisho.org is a useful tool for confirming romanization. - Characters should be referred to by the name they are most often called in the novels. For example, use “Godou” for Yoshito Godou rather than “Yoshito.”
- Follow the capitalization used in the novels. For example, Gift is capitalized when referring to powers or abilities in the series.
Editing[]
- New articles must be directly related to the My Happy Marriage series.
- Confirm that a similar article does not already exist under a different name.
- Only create a page if there is enough information for a full article. For example, a character mentioned briefly in passing should not have a standalone page.
- Use preload templates (available at the bottom of the “Edit Page” screen in the Source Editor) to set up pages quickly.
- It is recommended to use the Source Editor when editing pages. Refer to existing articles of similar type for structure guidance.
Page Layout[]
The opening paragraph of an article should briefly explain what the subject is and what it is known for. This should be followed by a more in-depth exploration of the topic. Recommended sections, in order, are as follows:
