My Happy Marriage Wiki

Envy and Impatience (嫉妬と焦燥, Shitto to Shousou?) is the thirteenth chapter of the My Happy Marriage manga adaptation.

Summary[]

Minoru summons Kaya to the Tatsuishi estate and tells her he had witnessed Miyo doing very well for herself. Enraged, Kaya rushes home and sends a familiar to spy on her sister. As a child, Kaya was sternly warned by her mother to never become like Miyo and would be scolded for any mistakes she made. The belief that she is better than her sister was ingrained in her since she was young. To Kaya's horror, she sees Miyo looking like a noblewoman and dressed in exquisite clothing. She then sees Miyo chatting happily with the man she saw at her house--Kiyoka Kudou.

Unable to accept that Miyo would be marrying into a wealthy, respected family and refusing to settle for the declining Tatsuishi family, Kaya asks Shinichi to swap her and Miyo. He refuses and tells her to forget about Miyo. Kaya is incensed as Shinichi has never refused her before. Just then, she sees Kouji and asks him to help her, as she knows he would much rather marry Miyo than her. Kouji reminds her that she needs her father's permission to do anything. Kaya, frustrated that both men refuse to help her, decides to enlist the help of Minoru.

Some time earlier, Miyo and Yurie go to the station to deliver a meal to Kiyoka, as Miyo worries that he has been skipping meals because of how busy he has been. Kiyoka receives them at the gates and awkwardly thanks Miyo for the lunch box. Just before she leaves, Kiyoka asks if she's been carrying her amulet, and Miyo assures him that she always has it in her purse. He pats her on the head, causing her to blush.

As she and Yurie are walking back, Miyo realizes that she doesn't have the amulet with her as she forgot to put in her new purse. They decide to walk back home as quickly as they can. At a short distance from home, a car stops in front of them. Men come out of the car and kidnap Miyo.
