My Happy Marriage (わたしの幸せな結婚, Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon?) is a live-action film based on the novel series. It opened in Japan on March 17, 2023.
Synopsis[]
Modern Japan has undergone remarkable civilisation and development. For generations, people from families who have inherited special powers have been protecting the people from various disasters, together with the emperor who rules the country. Miyo Saimori, the eldest daughter of the xenophobic family with a mansion in the Imperial capital, was born without the ability and has lived a life of abuse from her stepmother and half-sister. She has given up everything and lives with endurance, and is ordered to enter into a political marriage with the ruthless and merciless military leader Kudou Kiyoka, who leads the Alien Force at a young age. As rumour has it, numerous potential fiancées have run away after less than three days, and Kiyoka coldly tells Miyo.
'Here, you must obey me absolutely. If I tell you to leave, leave. If I tell you to die, die."
As she spends time in the Kudou household, she realises that Kiyoka is not as bad as he is rumoured to be. Kiyoka is also touched by Miyo's thoughtfulness, and before long the two come to see each other. A light shines on a political marriage that seemed to have no chance of happiness.
"I wanted to stay with this person for as long as possible - I wanted to stay with this person for as long as possible. I wanted to stay with this man for as long as possible..."
However, at the same time, a series of disturbing calamities attacked the people of the Imperial Capital one after another. Kiyoka is ordered to act as a shield for the people in the midst of these incidents. Kiyoka fights for her life. Miyo fears for her safety. An unexpected conspiracy is swirling in the shadows of the disaster. Behind Kiyoka, who fulfils her duty, the devil's hand closes in on Miyo. Before long, a cruel fate mercilessly rips them apart...[1]
