Jakuji Unan (雲庵 雀児, Unan Jakuji?) is a Gifted doctor and researcher.[1]
Appearance[]
Jakuji is a young man around thirty years old. He is tall and lanky with an unkempt beard. When at work, he wears white coat. He has a peculiar and creepy laugh that makes people's skin crawl.[2]
Personality[]
Jakuji's personality is considered problematic, though he's not necessarily evil.[2]
History[]
He is a relative of Fuyu,[2] who comes from a family of people with the Healing Gift.[3] He is a doctor who could heal injuries very well with his Healing Gift but he charges an exorbitant amount for it as a "special service fee."
Plot[]
Volume 4[]
When Kiyoka Kudou and Miyo Saimori visit the injured Yoshito Godou in the military hospital at the Imperial Army headquarters, they encounter Jakuji, who just exits Yoshito's hospital room. He greets Kiyoka, who responds with a disgusting look that it has been a while since they last saw each other. Jakuji laughs saying that Kiyoka hasn't changed and calls his way of treating him arrogant. Kiyoka tells him to stop with his creepy laugh, to which Jakuji laughs some more and tells him to not sweat over small stuff like the way someone laughs. Kiyoka inquires about how Yoshito is doing and Jakuji responds that it is good enough to have visitors. His wounds don’t stand out as much as they used to, but his stamina’s dropped remarkably, so Jakuji believes that it’ll be a prolonged stay. He tells them that Yoshito can easily be able to make it back before the end of the year. Before he leaves, he flashes her a truly repulsive smirk, causing her hasty smile to waver. When Kiyoka explains Jakuji's background, Miyo realizes that Yoshito's injuries are horrible enough to warrant this doctor’s aid.[2]
